When: Tues Aug 15. Doors at 7p. Arrive before 730p. Event begins at 730p

Who: Age 18 years and up. A drawing exercise for all levels.

Cost: Free RSVP here. Limited space. Suggested sliding scale donation of $10-$20 accepted on site. Cash or digital payment. All funds go directly to those leading the session.

What: Draw with Us is an hour long gathering to meet other drawing people and practice the fun and magic of drawing. Kat will lead the drawing people through social, historical, and practical matters of getting our hands and minds a drawin'! Meet members of the Oakland Creativity Meetup Group who have been drawing together for a few years now over zoom. This event is for all levels.

What to Bring: Paper and a pen or a pencil and we will have some materials as well. Snacks and drinks!

Kat Countiss has been leading drawing sessions over zoom for the last three years as part of keeping spirits and community high during the pandemic. It has lead her to her passion of art instruction and now teaches at a studio in the Bay Area for a nonprofit arts organization. IG @katcountiss

    CAR. There is street parking. It is a residential neighborhood. Thursday and Friday are street cleaning days with parking restrictions between 1230p-330p. If you find parking limited outside the space, please try Brush St. It is the street at the end of the block. Do NOT leave any valuables in your car.

    BART. NewNow is a 10-12 minute walk from 19th Street Oakland BART. Arriving from San Francisco, you may prefer to take the first stop (West Oakland) and take a 5 minute LYFT or bike from there. The shortest distance to walk is from 19th St. BART.

    BIKE. Bring your bike into NewNow. There is a secure area in the backyard.

  • NewNow is a blue-gray building at the corner of 21st and West. There is no outside building signage. There is one 4 inch step into the space and two 4 inch steps down into the backyard. Typical to Bay Area spaces, there is no air conditioning. The space is usually comfortable with overhead fans and open windows. To help further prepare for your visit contact: info@newnow.live
